The Fountain Pen Collection

Graf von Faber-Castell offers an extensive array of fountain pens which are still regarded as the ultimate writing instrument. The majority of our fountain pens typically either use an ink cartridge or insert an ink converter allowing the pen to draw ink direct from the ink bottle. Many of the Faber-Castell fountain pens can also take ink cartridges once the converter has been taken out. So you have the best of both worlds filling your pen either direct from the ink bottle or from hassle-free cartridges.

Always remember to replace your fountain pen cap when not in use for long periods of time, as left off the liquid ink in your pen will dry and diminish its life expectancy. From time to time you may need to clean through your fountain pen as after time particles of paper can get caught around the nib area and in the small channels that feed the ink into your nib. Simply take out the ink converter or ink cartridge and run fast flowing water around the nib area and through the filling channels to clear away any dried ink and paper particles.

Casings

The Graf von Faber-Castell fountain pens come in a variety of finishes, such as lacquered metal and wood. In the Classic Collection, slow growth hardwoods are used, such as Ebony, Pernambuco and Granadilla. The writing instruments in the Intuition Collection are made from glossy black resin. The Guilloche Collection is manufactured from carved dyed resin in coral, indigo, Sahara, and black, as well as several kinds of wood.

Nibs and Clips

The combination of 18-karat gold and rhodium, together with an iridium tip, guarantees a successful interplay of hardness, softness, tension and elasticity which ultimately provides you with the joy of writing with a fountain pen.

The multi-part clip is expertly assembled and is equipped with a spring in the clip, which guarantees that the pen will slide effortlessly into your pocket whilst been held firmly in place.
