Our next Great Characters Special Edition writing instruments from Montblanc pay tribute to Andy Warhol. We have all three versions of the writing instruments – ballpoint, rollerball and fountain pens. 

Andy Warhol was born on the 6th of August 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He had a unique crossover between celebrity advertising and artistic expression when creating 'pop art', displaying bold and bright colour designs. His work featured many types of media including painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, film and even music. Another one of his talents was writing; this was seen when he created a magazine named 'Interview Magazine' and also wrote many books. Much of his works were created in his studio 'The Factory', and this was used by many celebrities and creative artists. 

Paintings stood out when when Andy Warhol began to paint canvases featuring American Icons such as Campbell's soup cans, dollar bills, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, to name a few. Later work for the likes of Mick Jagger and John Lennon were created.

Andy Warhol's life, experiences and creative talent is reflected by Montblanc on their latest writing instrument Great Character designs. The barrel presented in precious blue resin is tailored with a stainless steel cap and features one of the Andy's famous quotes engraved on the cap:- 'Art is what you can get away with'. The ring of the cap features Andy Warhol's signature, and the clip of the pens mimic his print screen design of squeegee. The pens are adorned with platinum plated fittings and come complete with a 2 year guarantee certificate and special character's edition presentation box.
