This much awaited collection has been inspired by the story of Le Petit Prince written by French author and illustrator Antoine Saint-Exupéry; and we are so excited to introduce it to you.

Every year since 1992 Montblanc have released limited edition pens as part of their ‘Writers Editions’ collection; the limited edition pens help to bring the life stories that great people have told during their lifetime and pay tribute to the greatest icons of literary history.

Montblanc is known for their craftsmanship and dedication when it comes to writing. The collection is part of the well known and popular Meisterstück collection loved by many Montblanc fans. The Meisterstück Le Petit Prince brings together the heritage of a timeless gifting favourite and the cultural influence of a literary great. Filled with meaning and symbolism; this new edition reaffirms Montblanc's belief that writing is a gift, one that is passed on through the generations with a positive message, just like the ideas, dreams and thoughts that Le Petit Prince shares with the world around him.

Antoine was a pilot who disappeared while flying a reconnaissance mission over occupied France during World War II. His adventures of being a pilot drove him to writing and in 1943 he published his first novel 'The Little Prince' or Le Petit Prince. His words and drawings have touched hearts and minds around the world across all generations. There are a series of writing instruments as well as jewellery and stationary refills.

The Le Petit Prince collection is a timeless selection of writing instruments and accessories which would make a great addition to your Montblanc collection.

In the collection there are a selection of writing instruments, there are four designs all featuring a fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint. Each of the pens are crafted from navy blue precious resin a colour chosen by Montblanc to represent the universe that is all around the little prince. There is the Classique and LeGrand size in the all over resin design, the Solitaire Doué design embraces a platinum-plated crafted cap and the Solitaire has the fox face pattern engraved all over the barrel and cap which evokes a character from the story that instructs the young prince about the bonds of human relationships. This fox face pattern is engraved onto the caps of the other three designs.

Each of the pens have a platinum-plated clip adorned with a tiny yellow star inlaid in it which is a reminder of laughter in the stars. The star symbol for the collection represents a passage from the story where before travelling back to his asteroid the little prince tells the pilot he will be able to hear his laugh any time simply by looking at the stars and remembering. Around the crown of each pen in the collection is a sentence from the original novel has been laser engraved into the crown which says "Tu seras pour moi unique au monde" which translates as "To establish ties, to me, you will be unique in all the world. The fountain pens in the collection have a delicate character of Le Petit Prince along with his friend the fox engraved into the nib.

Each of our fountain pens in the collection come with a medium sized nib and if you require a fine nib then you can request that from us.
