Montblanc's Artisan Edition is honouring one of the most revolutionary and influential jazz musicians of all time, Miles Dewey Davis. The overall shape of the limited edition 90 fountain pen reflects the trumpet, emphasised through the trumpet finger buttons on the clip. The colour blue is inspired by Davis customized trumpets, which he also played while recording his most famous album - it was varnished with a blue-green "Kind of blue". The blue cone reminds of " Kind of blue", the greatest jazz album of all times. The engravings and skeletonized pattern on cap and barrel are based on the 5 major phases of evolution on the post WWII American Jazz. The shape of the cone is deducted from the special "Heim" mouthpiece he used to play. The nib motive represents the thrumpet keys. The limitation celebrates the 90th anniversary of his birth in 2016. This Montblanc Great Characters fountain pen comes in bespoke packaging and boxed.
Please note: This fountain pen is pre-loved and pre-owned and comes with its original box and packaging. We have polished and cleaned the fountain pen so it is now in perfect condition, equivalent to one that you would receive directly from Montblanc's factory in Hamburg, Germany!
