Designed by Sigvard Bernadotte as part of the Bernadotte collection for Georg Jensen. In 1938 he designed an elegant sterling silver milk jug in a unique design, which gave the inspiration to a new thermo jug. Even though the design for the thermo jug is 65 years old it is still a contemporary piece. Prince Sigvard Bernadotte was concerned with the same functionalism that plays a great part in modern design today, and this without, at any time, losing sight of the visual beauty. The large Bernadotte thermo jug was launched in 2002, and in the fall of 2011, a second smaller version is introduced. This second thermo jug is actually closer to the original design and holds 0.8 L. The thermo jug keeps liquids hot for minimum 6 hours. The thermo jug is made from stainless steel with a chrome plated screw-on-lid and handle. The inner liner is also in stainless steel - and non-breakable. The inner part is coated to prevent the taste of coffee and tea to stay in the thermo jug. The Georg Jensen brand name has been engraved into the jug in the set for subtle branding purposes. On the day of purchase the thermo jug will come packaged inside a Georg Jensen branded presentation box.
