The Great Characters Edition Andy Warhol is paying tribute to one of the major proponents of the Pop Art Movement. With his striking works, Andy Warhol broke down the barriers between ‘high art’ and ‘commercial art’ and made a sensation turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. The complementary contrast between the cobalt blue precious resin of the barrel and the narrow orange rings on the cone and forepart reflect the color variations in Warhol’s Colored Campbell’s Soup can series from 1965, which are also carefully worked into the stainless steel cap. While the squeegee he used in silkscreen printing is captured in the design of the clip, the cap ring of the edition is adorned with an engraving of Warhol’s signature.
