Montblanc's James Watt Limited Edition 83 Fountain Pen is for the Artisan Atelier Privé range, launched in 2014. The Limited Edition 83 Artisan James Watt fountain pen honours one of the greatest Scottish inventors and engineers of all time. He developed Newcomers steam engine and invented the term horsepower to compare the output of steam engines with the power of horses. The skeleton overaly in three layers is inspired by James Watt's technical reinvention of the steam engine. The clip is shaped like Watts regulator with its double weights, designed to lift and move apart when in motion. The cap resembles a cylinder with its typical reinforcement rings. The nib is engraved with a horse referring to the power unit horse power Watt invented. His numerous patents and inventions to do with water and steam are represented by the water blue sapphires. The limitation 83 refers to his lifetime and achievements.
