Description
The Montblanc Van Gogh Limited Edition Rollerball Pen is the first writing instrument in the brand-new Masters of Art collection. This collection honours Van Gogh's, one of the most famous painters of the 19th century, and celebrates his later years spent in Arles in South of France. The barrel ring has been engraved with 1888, to commemorate the year he moved to Arles.
The vibrant mix of yellow and orange colours on the barrel is reminiscent of the Provence wheatfields, this pattern covers the platinum-coated barrel. This colourway is celebrated in every detail of this rollerball pen, and is finished off with a special yellow Montblanc emblem on the top of the cap, a detail that is matched on the clip.
The shape of both the Fountain Pen and Rollerball in the collection is a tribute to Van Gogh's fascination with Japanese woodblock prints, with a hint at the shape of a wood-cutting knife. This design and thought are combined with the cap of the Montblanc rollerball pen being made from wood. Van Gogh always had a fondness for pipe smoking, as referenced in many of his self-portraits. The clip on this rollerball subtly captures this with the upper part shaped like a pipe's bowl.
On the day of purchase the Montblanc Van Gogh rollerball pen will come complete in its own bespoke presentation box and come complete with a 2-year international warranty booklet.
