The ballpoint pen barrel has been made from matt stainless steel which has a ribbed surface above the cone of the pen for added grip when writing. The cone of the pen is what surrounds the nib of the pen which happens to be made from blue plastic matching the ink colour inside making it easier to identify; there is a small piece of the plastic at the top. There is a matt stainless steel clip at the top of the pen also which helps when securing into a shirt pocket or pen case. There is a twist mechanism near the cone of the pen which unscrews so you can change the refill. The LAMY brand name has been placed at the top of the pen for subtle branding purposes.
