The finely fluted barrel made of metal is lacquered in several elaborate working steps with an innovative lacquer ensuring a long-lasting matte surface. The pen features a traditional rollerball pen nib which has a precision point that glides smoothly over the paper. The barrel is Night Blue and features a ribbed texture for a contemporary look; it is also broader than most Faber-Castell pens. There is a platinum-plated cap which is engraved with 'Handmade in Germany' featured near the bottom, and a spring-loaded solid metal clip attached to the side which is ideal for slipping into your shirt pocket or Faber pen case. The top of the pen has been engraved with the Graf von Faber-Castell brand name around a ring for authenticity. The manufacturing process involves over one-hundred steps, with most of those being carried out by hand.
