To help influence your new revamped wardrobe we have put together a guide on the current trends for summer 2018. We will be talking about some of the recent trends to have hit the catwalk for spring/summer and what works, these trends are all statement pieces and would fit into a wardrobe that needs something...extra if you catch our drift.

Walk into summer with something that is sure to stand out from the crowd and match the trends that this season has promised. Here are our five top tips when it comes to keeping up with the trends.

1.

Drawn To You

A detail that is found in many of the handbags this season including Radley. This season we have been seeing many trends but one particular style which is showing up left right and centre is the drawstring bag which has been spotted across the catwalks and the capital. This unique way of closing a bag is no longer resigned to the 90s gym bag it is now a key design element to many ladies' handbags. The drawstring is stylish yet secures your bag at the same time, and with a leather finish it is more luxurious than ever. Each designer has there own take on the trend. Different design factors are used by designers to create their own take on the 'drawstring' style, leather totes, cross body bag and shoulder bags are all the rage with statement ruching or elegant eyelets.

2.

The Transparency Trend

Transparent layers are all the rage in the fashion industry, Both Montblanc and  Aspinal of London are embracing this trend.Transparency is also one that is taking the catwalks by storm and popping up in retail shops. Transparency followed into summer from spring and isn't ready to lead just yet. The trend is perfect for layering up your attire and for visual purposes its great because whatever you are wearing underneath you can see this through the item you are layering up with.

3.

A Spectrum of Colour

The Rainbow fashion trend adding an array of different colours altogether on the same item which Paul Smith mastered.Rainbow colours are quite often bright and colourful and the perfect example of happiness. This trend we relate to the 70s with technicolour statement pieces. This trend ruled the spring 2018 runways in many forms of showstopping dresses and accessories. The rainbow trend is unusual and not something that we thought designers would embrace so consider it a rare moment of optimism. So as you start to revamp your wardrobe think about what's in your closet, what you can pair with your already existing good statement pieces. If you aren't one for a huge amount of colour let alone taking on the rainbow trend fully then dip your toe in by thinking about the plain pieces you have in your wardrobe and pair them with one or two rainbow inspired pieces.

4.

Crayola Colour Fashion Trend

Everyone remembers 'Crayola' the brand of crayons for kids usually in packs of vibrant bold colours, this colour scheme is now a trend in the fashion world with Montblanc and  Lulu Guinness embracing this trend well. Usually as spring/summer comes around pastels are the go to trend but not this year, there's a new colour code in town and that is the Crayola trend. With bright and bold paintbox colours hitting the runway so if your wardrobe has become a bit blah then brighten it up with a hit of crayola colour. This trend doesn't just have to be with clothing it can be worn or used in the form of accessories and if bright colours are not your thing then inject small doses of it into your attire and test the water with these punchy hues.

5.

The Circle Bag

Why be boring with a plain old rectangular bag, geometrics are the thing in fashion and the circle bag was the most popular, Aspinal of London demonstrates their version of the 'circle bag' they call it their 'Hat Bag' available in many colours and textures. There has been one trend that has been 'circling' around since last year and has very much returned this summer and that is the circle or round bag. Designers such as Chloé, Saint Laurent, Céline and Chanel have all incorporated the cicular silhouette into their lines.
