Le Petit Prince collection

We are delighted to announce the Le Petit Prince collection which was launched a couple of weeks ago, it has been doing really well with our Montblanc loving customers. The pen collection was inspired by the story of Le Petit Prince written by French author and illustrator Antoine Saint-Exupéry.

Every year since 1992 Montblanc have released limited edition pens as part of their ‘Writers Editions’ collection; the limited edition pens help to bring the life stories that great people have told during their lifetime and pay tribute to the greatest icons of literary history. You can read more and experience more from our post a few weeks back which introduced Le Petit Prince collection.

The Latest from the Montblanc Time Collection

Then we have a couple of new watches from Montblanc. We had the Smart Watches last year and as they continue to grow and be in high demand; out come some new designs of the traditional Roman numeral time teller. These two watches embrace a black alligator watch strap, one with a black face and one with a white. These two dress watches would make a great addition to a watch collector wanted to add a bit of Montblanc to their collection.

Patron of Art

Every year Montblanc create a Limited Edition collection of usually two very different writing instrument - these are also usually fountain pen's. This is given as an award and has been rewarded now for 26 years in up to 17 countries. The Montblanc Arts Patronage Award is given to art patrons whose personal commitment and achievements deserve wider recognition. You can read more about this in one of our previous posts.

This year the Patron of Arts was in honour King Ludwig II of Bavaria and two fountain pen's were designed. He was a Monarch, Fairy-Tale King and patron of the arts, a lover of both music and art, he built three masterpieces; Linderhof, Herrenchiemsee and Neuschwanstein.

Both the pen's are limited edition, 4810 were made of the blue fountain pen above and 888 were made of the white below.

The above fountain pen is made from blue lacquer inspired by the king's robe. The king was sometimes called the swan king because of his royal emblem evoking a swan; this is used throughout the two pens as the clip embracing the form of a swan neck and head and swan feathers peeking from beneath the lacquer. Champagne coated solid gold has been used on the blue fountain pen as an accent colour with a beautiful crown detailing on top of the cap referencing the royal seal.

The white fountain pen below uses both platinum-plated and solid gold acting as a skeleton over white lacquer. Featuring a bi-colour nib bearing a fine engraving of the castle on the handcrafted Au 750 solid gold nib.

Leather

There have been many large leather goods arriving in many different forms and styles, from small leather to large, backpacks to briefcases. We have had them all, because our latest releases are always changing due to being the largest stockist of Montblanc in England we can't always keep our large leather releases in our latest releases page. But recently we have received a huge amount of 'Blue', blue wallets, blue backpacks, blue pen cases, blue everything; this seems to be the colour of the season. From this we picked our latest piece which is the ultra slim blue document case, the perfect companion for business meetings, great for storing your laptop inside, fits all your tech devices i.e. mobile phones, iPad, iPod, earphones as well as essentials like a writing instrument, notebook, documents, wallet etc. Designed as part of the popular Sartorial collection the document case embraces the hard wearing saffiano printed leather exterior.

Continuing with the blue theme...

Many have been asking about more compact sized storage for their Montblanc pen's. Well this pen sleeve having only arrived a day ago is compact, its light, its blue and its perfect for containing one Montblanc writing instrument whether that a rollerball, ballpoint or fountain pen. Designed again as part of the Sartorial collection embracing that saffiano textured leather but wait it also has a fabric lining to prevent any scratched occurring to your pen when removing the pen from its sleeve. Simple design with only the embellishment of the Montblanc emblem on the front.

Wallets are always a crowd pleaser for you men, so many designs, colour-ways and features now being put inside wallets but which one to choose. Well a new design from Monblanc is this stunning brown smooth leather wallet which has a tan soft leather lining. What makes this design great is that there are a selection of different styles to meet every man's needs. Some men prefer a coin pocket for their change - this design you can have that, some want something slim and not bulky in their pocket - this design you can have that and some just want some men just want storage for credit cards that isn't a card holder...guess what - this design you can have that.

This wallet there is a design with a coin pocket, a design with a money clip actually inside the bill-fold of the wallet and finally there is a design where it only has card pockets. Another plus is there is another colour-way which is the traditional black but with a twist of you've guessed it 'blue'.

Writing instruments weren't only what was to come out of the Le Petit Prince collection but also a pair of cufflinks were designed as part of the jewellery range along with a money clip. More from the Le Petit Prince collection is a notebook designed as part of the Fine Stationary range. It embraces a scene of Le Petit Prince strolling along with his fox friend. The fine stationary range is beautiful and this A5 sized notebook is no exception, made from navy blue saffiano textured leather with gilded edges and the Montblanc emblem watermark on each page. Patron of Arts ink

Inspired by the swan feathers which were used on the Ludwig II fountain pen's, used because of Ludwig's royal swan emblem and use of swan art around his castles an ink was designed for the fountain pen's to pay tribute to the Swan King. Embracing a beautiful brown colour inspired by a plume of feathers. The ink colour is named 'Plume'.

More refills...

More refills and more of Le Petit Prince - dark orange was the chosen colour for the refills to accompany the writing instruments taken from the fur of the fox in the story who the little prince met on his journey. The fox instructs the young prince about the bonds of human relationships. Rollerball, ballpoint and fountain pen refills were made for the collection to accompany each of the writing instruments.

Colour of the Year

Each year Montblanc come out with a selection of fountain pen ink cartridges and an ink bottle, rollerball refills and ballpoint refills to celebrate the colour of the year. Its a fun collection of refills based on Montblanc's colour of the year which in this case for 2018 is 'Emerald' green. The colour has been inspired by the beauty of emerald stones.
