We are proud to have been chosen to sell Sekford watches here at Wheelers Luxury Gifts. The name of the watch brand references Sekforde Street in Clerkenwell, London. This is an area that was once one of the world’s most important watch-making hubs.

Sekford watches were inspired by 18^th and 19^th century English pocket watches and the simplistic design they inherited. Another contributing factor in the design of the Sekford brand was the work of Christopher Dresser the Scottish designer and Edward Johnston the typographer. Their work ‘Swara’ believed touched on something special which he wanted to incorporate into his watch designs.

The Sekford brand was born when the team set about researching the history of watch making and acquired an appreciation for fine lettering and the clarity of white space that was found on English pocket-watch dials; this is what led them to explore the traditional techniques that were used in the production of the Type 1A collection.

The Type 1A collection is all that Sekford have released as of yet due to being a new go to brand, the creative director Kuchar Swara was looking for a great dress watch for less than £1,000 and wasn’t able to find one which is when he came up with the idea of designing one with co founders and designers Cédric Bellon and Pierre Foulonneau. The collection features 6 colour ways ranging in price from £695-£795. The Sekford logo embraces the traditional silhouette of a fox which is an English Gothic Revival engraving, cut by specialist Mark Wilkinson. The logo is engraved faintly onto the back surface of the watch accompanied by the unique number and brand name. The timepieces are Swiss made by one of the country’s most established and respected manufacturers ensuring a highly well made watch. Each watch in the collection has a beautifully made leather strap either English bridle or English shell cordovan, which are both hard-wearing and have been sourced from one of Britain’s oldest tanneries in Derbyshire. Both sides of the straps have been finished with fine stitching.

The packaging is minimalistic in design, the long watch boxes hold the watch firmly in place inside. The presentation box is navy blue with a debossed logo on the front and each watch comes with its own personalised label and certificate of warranty.

The Gold PVD finished watch features a Black English shell cordovan leather strap, which is most commonly known as ‘Horse hide’.

Each watch features the Sekford Fox logo engraved with intricate detail on the back, along with its own unique number.

Each watch is beautifully stitched, and the strap is sourced from one of Britain’s oldest tanneries. The strap has a beautiful simple looking metal buckle with a brushed finish.

Two watches in the collection have a ‘Sunburst dial’ which creates a beautiful shine when light touches the surface, creating darker and lighter shades of colour.

The blue dial and the black leather strap contrast so well together, also accompanied with 3D design technology create a simplistic yet effective time teller.

The collection has domed lenses following in the design of the domed dial plus hour and minute hands.
