Montblanc New Special Edition Heritage Collection Rouge et Noir

Montblanc New Special Edition Heritage Collection Rouge et Noir

Founded in Hamburg, Germany, they are now celebrating 110 years of existence and to do so they have designed a collection inspired by their very first serial pen creation the “Rouge et Noir” which was a collection of pens made from black ebonite meaning hard rubber with accents of red.

Brand new inspired by the old Rouge et Noir collection comes the new special edition Heritage collection by Montblanc. The collection combines luxury with the novelty of serpents. All products in this collection feature the “Rouge et Noir” red highlights which stem’s back to the first Rouge et Noir pen translated meaning “red and black”. In this collection there is a mixture of the two top sellers at Montblanc; pen’s and cufflinks. The new special edition Heritage collection was based on the historic 1906 limited edition Rouge et Noir fountain pen which was their first fountain pen that didn’t need dipping in an inkwell; Montblanc considered it as a technical achievement. Following this legendary pen is a collection that has been made longer and slimmer for full comfort when writing, all made from precious coloured lacquer and all featuring the Montblanc emblem and brand name. In the pen side to the collection there are a mix of rollerball, ballpoint and the traditional fountain pen to suit everyone’s preference.

The snake motif is featured in two places firstly on the pen clip which is a full length snake entwined around the pen cap, created from metal alloy and made to look vintage with dark stamping detail to represent scales, the eyes are small spinels in the majority of the pens which is a substitute crystal to precious gemstones. The second serpent can be found on the nib of only the fountain pens, it is engraved into the fountain pen tip, in some cases the fountain pen nib is rhodium plated and others it has gold detailing this depends on preference to colour. The pen’s come in two different colour’s one being Montblanc’s signature colour; black but then the red pen isn’t really a true red it’s a stunning coral colour which really stands out and shows off the snake design.

The Montblanc special edition Heritage Rouge et Noir cufflinks are also serpents, and pay tribute to the old 1906 writing instrument. They’re crafted from sterling silver featuring oxidised detailing to create the structure of the snakes back. The snake’s eyes are made from red lacquer to add some colour and keeping in with the colour scheme of the Rouge et Noir Heritage collection.
