Montblanc Pen Repairs & Servicing

Wheeler's Luxury Gifts is an authorized Montblanc repair and service centre, and we offer our repair services with the care and precision that you and your Montblanc items deserve. Montblanc writing instruments are handmade with high quality craftsmanship that is also required to repair each piece. If we have the spare parts in stock to repair your writing instrument, we endeavor to complete the repair/service within 5 working days of receiving it into our service centre. If the repair time will take longer, we will inform you accordingly.

To begin the process of repairing your writing instrument, please fill out a repair request form on our website for the specific type of item you need repaired.

Our repair services require that the entire item be sent so we can ensure a careful diagnosis of the item to determine the required repair/service for your writing instrument. Please do not only send one piece, as all pieces are needed to make sure your item is repaired and assembled in the proper manner, and looks and functions as good as new.

All Montblanc writing instruments are under 24-month warranty from the date of purchase or receipt as a gift. This covers any failure of the product due to a manufacturer defect, but does not include lost parts, damage from everyday use, or if the product has been dropped or banged against a hard surface. Any Montblanc product you wish to have repaired and have covered under warranty must be sent with its corresponding International Guarantee Certificate, found in the back of the Service Guide included with the product when purchased. This International Guarantee Certificate must have been completed, dated, stamped, and signed by an authorized Montblanc boutique or authorized Montblanc dealer. If the product was purchased on Montblanc.com, please include a copy of the Warranty Card included with the product when purchased.

Please note that in the process of repair, any parts that are replaced will become property of Montblanc and will therefore not be returned to you.

We advise against sending your writing instrument in its original box, or any container that you would like to keep. Please, however, make sure you send us your item properly protected, as we will not be responsible for any addition damage that occurs while in the post. If you do send your piece in the original Montblanc presentation box, we will do our best to attempt to return it to you.

Once we have received your Montblanc instrument, we will carefully evaluate the item and diagnose the specific service required for repair. We will determine the cost to cover the repair, and will notify you by email to review and approve the repair/service. If your item is under warranty, no payment is required. Please be aware that the prices listed on our website are estimates only, and are subject to change based on the evaluation of the item by our certified technicians before a final and accurate quote is produced.

If the repair exceeds the ability of our technicians, we would need to send your writing instrument back to Montblanc’s headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. Montblanc’s expert craftsmen will work on your pen and repair it to perfect working order, which takes roughly 8 weeks. Once Montblanc has your pen back in Hamburg and can assess the damage or service requirements themselves, they will send us a quote before the work is commenced. We will then phone you with the quote for approval and take payment before the work is completed. If necessary, we are able to give you a rough quote before your pen is sent to Montblanc in Hamburg, however that quote is not final and therefore subject to change.

As soon as a quote has been approved and payment has been secured, the service will be completed. If you decide to refuse the cost estimate, your Montblanc item will be returned to you in the same condition in which it was received. You will, however, be charged an administration fee of £35.00 before your item is returned to your care. This fee covers the time and effort of our certified technicians, and includes the cost of postage.

Please note that a £10 postage charge will also be required once your writing instrument has been repaired and is ready to return to you.
